This is the very BEST TV that I have ever owned!!!
I am so excited to share a few things with you about my purchase.
DELIVERY: Delivery was VERY smooth...make sure you get the "white glove" service if you don't have someone to help you because the box is huge and it takes TWO men to carry it inside. PLUS the delivery men take it out of the box and plug it in and check it to make sure that it didn't get damaged during transporting. Worth the extra money!
SETUP I had Dish Tv come and set it up for me because I bought a new HD TV receiver and I am a woman...so better to have Dish do it than me trying to figure it out...however, the connections and the book look very simple after all!
PICTURE SETTINGS V/S FACTORY SETTINGS The picture is so perfect, that I have never even wanted to adjust it...I think the "factory settings" are PERFECT, and wonderfully bright and clear and I am VERY excited over the picture quality of this Samsung TV.
TOUCH OF COLOR V/S GLARE? Regarding the "Touch of Red Color"...I can't even notice any red touch of color at all..it is SO SUBTLE... and there is NO glare or problem with it either in the daylight or the nightlight. It's PERFECT...don't know what others were fussing about!!??
"FIVE DIFFERENT SIZES" of PICTURE...your choice! Here is something no one has talked about (not in any of the previous reviews): This is a feature that I LOVE SO MUCH...and that is: You have "Five different" sizes or ways that you can view your picture in! That is right. Here are the following sizes that you can control from your remote (even with my Dish remote): 1. you can use the "normal" size which takes on whatever the show is offering the program in...
2. You can use the "stretch" size which stretches the whole picture from side to side and it does fill out the "whole" screen...
3. you can use the "partial zoom" which "enlarges" the whole picture...
4. you can use the "zoom" size which really enlarges the total picture on your screen... great if you have company that is sitting further away...
5. You can use the "gray bar" which has an about "4" gray stripe on each side with the picture in the middle (no gray strips on the top or bottom...and this looks very nice).
The "normal size" picture sometimes fills up the whole screen but sometimes has "black "4" strips on the sides of the picure (like the gray bars size), but it depends on the program or movie you watch...because the "normal size" will change with the program...but you can change it to any of the "5 different size settings" with your remote... I LOVE THIS FEATURE!!! Keeps you from getting bored...but most of all you can try all the different 5 sizes to see which one makes the picture look the best...LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!...and can't believe that no one ever mentioned this in their reviews that I read.
WHY I BOUGHT A SAMSUNG The reason I bought this brand is because I went to several large stores selling TVs and looked and compared all their tvs that were displayed next to each other...WOW...the Samsung totally BLOWS ALL the other brands OUT OF THE WATER PEOPLE!!! Go and see for yourself... I had to laugh, that at one store, they had the Samsung tvs and the Samsung Blu-Ray player completely far away from the other brands...or they would probably not be able to sell the others!!! LOL
DO I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE? Now I will tell you that I ABSOLUTELY made the BEST choice by buying this Samsung HDTV.

I bought this a year ago and it is working great. Amazon's White Glove service was good. The TV arrived in a timely way during the Holidays and I helped the driver unload it, because he showed up without a partner. He was apologetic, and I was happy to get the unit in time for the Holidays. Bottom line, the TV is incredible. I was deciding between this and the 52" Samsung because of the lower price and similar high end technologies. The Sony name and design won me over, however, forget about good customer service from Sony, as they are terrible. Thank goodness the TV works so well, and hopefully I wont need additional help from them. The TV is awesome and has some terrific features. The TV's only weakness, from my point of view, is that there aren't enough HDMI ports (2 on back, 1 on side) and there is no input for DVI, just RGB (which I'm told is analog). I highly recommend this TV. You'll wow people and have lots of hours of great entertainment too. Make sure you get a strong mount if you plan to hang this on your wall as it weighs nearly 100 lbs. I bought the Omni mount dual cantilever on Amazon and it is proving to be very sturdy for the task.

I bought this to replace one of the Samsung 40"ers I won playing poker (long story). I wanted BIGGER than the 40 and caught this at a good price early xmas eve, so most of my comparison is to the Samsung it replaced. The Good: Bigger is better, much deeper and richer blacks, does not blur with speed ie football game etc, better viewing angle, better anti glare, auto channel scan picks up much more channels and much faster, auto channel scan auto tunes both cable, digital and analog tv signals and locked them in with 1 sweep, deeper and more detailed menu and options. Lots of manual pic size adjustments, 4 hdmi inputs, remote passthru The Bad (or not so good): Colors are not as bright or sharp. Colors are not as 'REAL' ie skin tone etc. Sound system mediocre even with SRS wow, eq and enhancements (I use a very hi end audio system for movies anyway) remote kinda clutery and not friendly and range not good, deep menu and manual also clutery and somewhat unfriendly, fixed stand does not swival, only 1 cable/antenna input, so it is not possible to hookup both a Cable line and an (hdtv) antenna, 1 side input port, but no front port. Lots of manual size and pic adjustments, but the Samsung had auto settings for most and did it very well.. (who wants to go through lots of menu stuff when going from a widescreen dvd to a regulaor dvd) Has a "Game Mode" but it really sucks compared to the Samsung's. Overall I am happy and satisfied with my purchase. The picture comparison to my old Samsung is a wash. Blacks better on Toshiba, Colors better on Samsung, but Toshiba doesn't blur. Features about the same, but Toshiba had more manual adj and samsung more automatic. Last, this TV looks good, but was not the best in the store. The store had approx 40 tv's going all same channel and all of the 120hz pics where better, but some of the normal Samsung and Sony pics where somewhat better. All the other cheaper or 'off' brands like LG Vizio etc clearly had a much worse pic. I purchased this because the pic was certainly good to very good and the price was right 00 + tax.

White LEDs, which are based on a group of red, green and blue LEDs based on RGB color filters, an LCD screen is ideal and can cause the colors saturated. Sony's "Tri-color LED backlight system is an example of this technique. Sometimes, these HDTVs a set of LEDs on the top and bottom of the screen. Engineering concerns
The electronics is simpler, with LED backlighting. Cold cathode fluorescent (CCF) requires a high voltage (1500 VAC) at startup and operating voltages of 700 VAC or more. LCD with LED backlight systems use low voltage DC, usually 12 or 24 VDC. This translates into a smaller, the system simpler and more reliable. LED backlight systems must be well chilled or their performance may suffer. The LEDs generate less heat than bulbs CCF, but the heat is very concentrated. Operation at high temperatures reduce the life of the LED and shifts its spectrum of light, reducing light output.
OLED
A new technology that isfeel in the future is Organic LED (OLED). This technology is an entirely different technology backlight, does not need this book. For this reason, they draw much less power. And why is not illuminated, a system of OLED has an angle greater than a LED. An OLED display is much thinner than an LCD display. The response time for OLED is faster than normal LCD screens. An average of 8 to 12 milliseconds response time is normal for an LCD, comparedresponse time of 0.01 milliseconds for OLED.
Sony has introduced a 11 "HDTV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new 11" Sony TV called XEL-1 '. It is very thin (1 / 10 ") and currently sells for $ 2,500 Samsung has shown a 31" OLED HDTV with 1080p resolution at a trade show in Asia, in November. LG, Toshiba, Matsushita (Panasonic), and other investments are hundreds of millions of dollars to develop this technology very promising. Toshiba plans to sell a30-inch OLED display in 2009. Samsung said it sold large OLED full-screen HDTV in 2010.
OLED displays are used for some time in digital cameras, mobile phones and other devices with relatively small panels, because they are very efficient, which is very important in portable devices.
In theory, OLED displays can be produced more favorable than LCD or plasma, which means that it should not be so expensive. I remember the firstLarge LCD and plasma screens are more expensive when they were introduced.

I bought a LN52A750 for 1260, enjoyed the TV for two weeks and loved it. Two weeks later I found KDL52XBR9 was on sale for 1600; couldn't refuse the deal and got it PMed in local BB.
Put them side by side and watched Land of Lost Blu-ray for the night. I found myself liked Sony better for the shadow details in my dark home theater setup. Here is my 2 cents:
1. Samsung has better black which leads to more 3-D pop looking. This means it has to sacrifice some shadow details to gain it, at least for the A750 model.
2. The default for both of these TVs is meant to be brought up in a brighter room (like in the retail store, and yes Samsung would look stunning). The out of box default make Samsung un-watchable in my HT setup since it was to bright to begin with. Sony does the same but just a touch better. You'll have to adjust the TV' settings to fit your room's viewing condition. I used the settings people posted online for exact set for each TV as a starting point, and found myself like Sony much better for the eye constrain (Samsung is still too high of contrast and hard to get it adjust to show shadow detail w/o losing the 3-D pop). Don't get this wrong, I loved my 2 weeks old Samsung but had to let it go for Sony (just my personal preference).
One thing I do notice is the Sony's `Theater' mode does exhibit very poor motion (mottle /blotchy) when it in dark scene, just simply too much enhancement. This match to what the negative commends I found online in regards to this TV. However, I don't use the Theater mode. Instead I tweak and stay with the Custom mode and didn't see the motion problem since.

The clarity on this Samsung model is phenomenal. The black is definitely blacker than any model I have seen but if you're gonna spend upwards of ,500, do yourself a favor, spend the extra 0 and get a 120 hz refresh rate. This model boasts a 60 hz, which in itself is not bad at all, but it seems like when you get as big as a 52", the fast action seems to blur a lot more than my older 40". Maybe it is the size difference effecting it, but I wish I had sucked it up and got the 120hz. On slow movies, or even sports such as golf, hockey, or football, you won't notice. But watch a quick movie with lots of action scenes, and you will notice a bit of a blur/pixel on this model. Just go and get that extra 60hz, you won't regret it.
